A story worth seeing
As for the plot itself, the story begins with the loss of an ancient relic, which is very necessary for the villain, who escaped from the Rift. In the person of a promising graduate of the Academy of Summoners, player sets off in pursuit of the kidnappers.
Intrigues and investigations of betrayal await us in Summoners War: Chronicles. Not great, not terrible. The story is served mainly in the form of dialogues, but they include small animation inserts on the game engine.
A huge number of monsters
Each monster in Summoners War: Chronicles belongs to one of the elements and one of the classes. They also have a rarity gradation from one to five stars. There are only five elements: water-fire-wind and light-darkness. They have advantages and disadvantages against each other. There are six classes in turn: tank, warrior, support, mage, archer and assassin.
The class determines not only the role of the monster on the battlefield, but also its behavior. Archers, for example, will attack the nearest target and try to keep it at a distance. Warriors will primarily target enemy melee monsters and assassins.
There are currently only about 400 monsters, but with two caveats. First: if some fairy arrives in the game, then it will be five fairies of different elements at once. Formally, the number of monsters is equal to five. The second caveat: monsters of different elements can be radically different from each other. The same fairies of water and fire are units of different classes with different active skills.
The variability of pumping which AAA projects will envy
You can and should upgrade your pets. The maximum level is 70. You can also raise all of them to a rarity of six stars and increase the level of skills. In addition, they can wear up to six runes that increase various characteristics.
Runes with the same name can transfer into sets of two or four parts. It turns out you can wear either one set of four runes and one of two, or three sets of two runes at once. The effects of sets significantly increase some characteristic.
Detailed but optional group management
There are no strict rules for the formation of this group: the presence of a tank or a healer is actually optional. The thing is that the combat system is based on hanging buffs, debuffs and other effects both on opponents and on your team and allies. What is there just not there: freezing, arson, accuracy bonuses, regeneration and resurrection ban.
There are really a lot of bonuses and effects in Summoners War: Chronicles. In addition, they still have the property to sum up. That is, if a monster hangs a decrease in attack of the second level for 15 seconds when applying the skill, then the decrease in attack on the target will be already the fourth level.
Interesting group modes
Expeditions, Battleground and Party Dungeons represent group modes. Expeditions are not open yet. In Party Dungeon, there is also a map where you have to run to the boss and kill him along the way. Fight off ordinary monsters and dodging traps, as well as a map with object protection from waves of opponents. Bosses and these cards are necessary for a group of three people.
True, another particularly strong boss for a group of six people appeared recently. Battleground features only one map of 9×9 people so far. There you need to collect and hand over crystals and prevent the enemy team from doing the same.
PvP mode for everyone
In addition to the offline arenas standard for the genre, Summoners War: Chronicles offers real-time arenas with curious phases. The enemy can be banned from the element of the weapon so that he doesn’t wave it in front of you. Characters have five types of weapons with them. Each of which has its own element and skills attached or take one of his units out of the game.
Even now, when people still have only 2 – 3 pumped Monsters, there is already room for tactics. After losing, you often realize your mistakes in choosing a target or in the fact that you decided to catch a mass stun with your whole squad, which does not help much victory. The player directly controls only his character and the monster he has chosen as the main one. The rest are controlled by AI – their behavior on the battlefield depends on their class.
