Threads – an analogue of Twitter – appeared on iOS and Android

Meta Corporation has opened for download the Threads application – it is an analogue of the Twitter microblogging network. Authorization is possible using an account on the social network Instagram. You can also import your profile data from there. There is a feed of recommendations on the main page of Threads. Likes, reposts and quotes are also available there.

In the first two hours of operation, the service gained 2 million users. Meta founder Mark Zuckerberg is confident that soon their number will exceed a billion. Outwardly, Threads looks like Twitter – you can also write short posts up to 500 characters and reply to them. The bottom panel resembles an Instagram one. Repost recordings directly to Instagram or repost to your Threads feed.

The feed looks chaotic: it mixes popular posts and posts of those you follow. The new social network does not yet have advertising and courses to promote accounts. However, there are already many memes.
